Drinking Water from the Atmosphere – DWA

Drinking Water From Atmosphere DWA – generates pristine drinking water from the atmosphere.

Most companies today rely on plastic bottled water as their main source of drinking water – an unsustainable and expensive option that poses increased health risks and an exorbitant carbon footprint.

DWA (CWM) brings a sustainable, cost effective and healthy solution to supplying pristine drinking water to remote businesses, commercial buildings, the hospitality industry, underground mining areas, oil rigs, construction sites and remote communities.

Access to drinking water is difficult, often requiring expensive transport of bottled water to the environment (by helicopter for oil rigs etc.). Bottled water has exorbitant negative impacts on the environment, on one’s health, and on one’s back pocket DWA Water Solution & Benefits

Cirrus water is created on-site and piped directly through to water dispensers.

How is DWA Water Made?

Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG)

Through a process called atmospheric water generation, CWM produces an unlimited supply of high-quality drinking water by extracting moisture out of the atmosphere where there is always a supply of humidity. The technology harvests moisture from the air by drawing air into the water generator and cooling it, causing the natural moisture in the air to condense.

The condensed water is collected and passed through an advanced filtration process that removes any impurities.

Climate Control System

To operate at optimal levels, the technology requires ambient humidity of at least 40% and a temperature of 18ºC. In places where the humidity or temperatures fall below optimal levels, CWM’s revolutionary Climate Control System is coupled to the water generator and uses recycled grey water or harvested rainwater to artificially create humidity in the air.

This humidity is then re-condensed and passed through advanced filtration processes to give pristine drinking water.

Remote Telemetry

The availability of drinking water can be mission-critical to many businesses.  To ensure peace-of-mind, DWA provides remote telemetry to their clients, displaying water production, water stocks, machine productivity and up-time. Potential problems can be addressed as early as possible, thereby ensuring business continuity.

Benefits of Cirrus Water

Affordable water production:  DWA water is cost effective since logistic, waste management and transportation costs are removed.

Superior quality: The water is produced from water vapor where water-borne diseases cannot survive and
doesn’t risk containing chemicals associated with plastic bottled water.

Environmentally friendly: DWA water is made on-site and piped directly to outlets reducing its carbon footprint.

A sustainable solution: Atmospheric moisture is used to create DWA water making it a sustainable solution amidst a growing water crisis.

Financial savings: DWA water will save you money over time when compared to other sources of drinking water.

Health:  DWA water does not risk plastics leeching dangerous chemicals into the water.

Remote telemetry: DWA water’s remote telemetry ensures enough water to meet your needs.

Climate Control System (CCS): CCS maintains prime humidity and temperature levels for consistent optimal performance.

What will happen to CO 2 in the air?

The chemical process that takes place is that humidity in the air, in the form of water vapour, is condensed into its liquid state. The chemical formula is H2O before and after the condensation, so there is no emission of any other compound. The only effect is that the air ends up being slightly less humid after water is extracted.

Cirrus Water Generating Plants

All DWA plants are based on our CWM100 module, nominally produces 100 litres per day. Water plants are available in multiples of 100 litres per day, up to the largest plant (CWM1000) that produces 1,000 litres per day.

Operational expenses

• Electricity
• Cleaning (unskilled labour)
• Maintenance (Electrical, HVAC & plumbing skills required)

Servicing – how often the filters or parts need to be replaced

• Air filters: these will only have to be replaced every year, but they are cleanable and can be washed every week.
• Water filters: activated carbon filters replaced every six months
• Gas (R22): gas pressures should be checked every three months, and adjusted as necessary.

The requirements to set up a DWA system

A site assessment is necessary to determine:

• Water volumes required, distribution points for the water, what types of distribution points
are required (chilled dispensers, bottling plants, simple faucets, etc.)

• Position of the water plant/s, piping requirements from the water plants to the distribution points, bottles if required, access to an Ethernet point if remote telemetry and dashboards are required, on-site skills if required, electricity supply.
